Hao Ren stared blankly at the old man, while Zhao Jiayin and his companions, who had been arm-in-arm with Hao Ren earlier, suddenly let go of him and kept their distance.

The dormitory area was bustling with students coming and going—some returning from classes and others preparing to head home. They were looking at Hao Ren curiously, whether nearby or far away.

Hao Ren felt like he was about to break down, unable to find the right words for a moment.

"Please get in the car," Old Sun said respectfully to Hao Ren.

"No way!" Hao Ren called out stubbornly.

What kind of situation is this There wasn't even any notice. Hao Ren felt very displeased with it all.

"Young Master Hao, you have already been betrothed to Little Purple, so please don’t be too headstrong," Old Sun continued to say.

“Betrothed” Those standing farther away might not have heard clearly, but Zhao Jiayin and his companions caught the word 'betrothed' perfectly and couldn't help blurting it out.

"Who is Little Purple" Zhou Liren asked Zhao Jiayin and Cao Ronghua beside him, puzzled.

But they just shook their heads in confusion as well.

"Are you hoping we will wait for you here indefinitely" Old Sun asked gently.

"Fine! You win!" Hao Ren saw the crowd growing larger and quickly got into the car after some thought.

The black Lincoln stretched out slowly, leaving the dormitory area under everyone's watchful eyes; it appeared low-key but was in fact rather grandiose.

"What’s going on with Hao Ren" Zhou Liren exclaimed as he watched the black Lincoln gradually vanish into the distance.

The Lincoln sedan smoothly navigated through the city, and soon arrived at a small two-story house.

A simple and unassuming house, one wouldn't guess that this was a residence of wealth.

The car stopped at the door. Elder Sun led Hao Ren out to press the doorbell.

"Come in." The door opened, revealing a beautiful young woman wearing an apron who spoke softly.

"I have brought him here, Madam. I'll be leaving now. If you need anything, give me a call," Elder Sun said to the beautiful woman with utmost respect.

"Alright, Elder Sun, thank you very much. Go back and attend to your own affairs. From what I can see, there are signs that your 'Purple Light Decision' (Note: This is likely referring to a cultivation technique or martial art) has progressed beyond the ninth level. I won't keep you any longer," said the woman gently.

"Thank you very much, Madam." Elder Sun slightly bowed and got into the black Lincoln, which then drove away slowly.

The beautiful woman then looked at Hao Ren by the door with a smile, "Come in and have a seat."

A single smile could captivate the city; another could bring down an empire. Gazing at this elegant lady with her hair tied up, Hao Ren felt all his previous irritations vanish.

"Oh..." He responded woodenly but couldn't help stepping into the house.

The interior was decorated exquisitely and everything was spotlessly clean.

"Have you eaten yet" she asked as she led Hao Ren in, turning to him with a gentle voice.

"No..." Hao Ren answered blankly.

Looking at this elegant and beautiful woman, he couldn't muster any anger.

"I'm Ah Zi's mother. My name is Zhao Hongyu. Ah Zi's father has gone to school to pick her up. He should be back soon. You can find a place to sit down while I cook," she said as she led Hao Ren to the sofa and smiled at him before turning into the kitchen.

The exact definition of an ideal wife and mother seems to be a woman like her, thought Hao Ren as he watched her back.

Hao Ren sat down and looked around the house again. Though it appeared plain from outside, the design and furnishings inside were extremely comfortable and luxurious.

The left side features a white staircase leading to the bedrooms on the second floor, while the right houses a study room with large reddish-brown bookshelves that give off an air of scholarly sophistication.

The living room is carpeted in soft flooring, spotlessly clean. The ceiling-mounted medieval-style chandelier indicates that this household enjoys considerable wealth.

Click. The door opens, and Zhao Guang leads Zhao Yanzǐ inside.

Zhao Yanzǐ still wears her light blue school uniform, looking fresh and radiant. Upon seeing Hao Ren, she gnashes her teeth in anger. However, she does not show any particularly surprised expression; Hao Ren guesses that his father-in-law-to-be must have already informed her of the situation when he picked her up.

"You're here," Zhao Guang coolly looks at Hao Ren and greets him with those words.

"Father-in-law." Hao Ren quickly rises to greet him. Though he calls him that, Hao Ren does not acknowledge his status as a father-in-law-to-be; rather, he deems it the bare minimum of politeness when visiting another person's home.

Seeing Zhao Yanzǐ pouting over there, Hao Ren feels an unease thinking about becoming engaged and dating with a middle school student—let alone their complicated backgrounds.

"No problem, take a seat," Zhao Guang calmly says. He turns to look at Zhao Yanzǐ, "I still have some work to attend to; you two chat."

With that said, he strides into his study room and starts working on paperwork.

Zhao Yanzǐ stands in the living room’s carpet, glaring at Hao Ren as if she wants to tear him apart with her eyes.

"I warn you—I haven't agreed to marry you. If you misbehave, I'll chop off your fingers!" She says fiercely.

"Well, problem is that I haven’t thought about marrying you either! They’re the ones who brought me here; what can I do" Hao Ren snorts back unfriendly towards Zhao Yanzǐ.

But then he thinks again—does it really make sense for him to quarrel with a middle school girl Furthermore, this situation is that this middle school girl is his fiancée

"I'm going upstairs to play computer games. You sit here." Zhao Yanzǐ glares at Hao Ren and heads towards the staircase.

"Yanzi!" A stern voice issues from the study room on the right side of the house, that of Zhao Guang.

Hearing her father's voice, Zhao Yanzǐ grits her teeth before stopping in her tracks.

Seemingly struggling, she pursed her lips and glared resentfully at Hao Ren. Her steps were heavy as if weighed down by lead as she walked stiffly towards him.

Ding! She sat angrily beside Hao Ren on the sofa.

"If you don't want to talk, just watch TV," Hao Ren helplessly glanced at her and picked up the remote control to turn on the television.

Zhao Yanzi was still glaring furiously at him.

Hao Ren ignored her and adjusted the TV channels himself.

"Happy Sheep and Big Bad Wolf" Hao Ren looked at her as he turned. "This is perfect for you."

"Go to hell!" Zhao Yanzi picked up something from the table, intending to hit him.

"A Zi!" A voice came from the study as if Zhao Guang had eyes in the living room and was aware of everything his daughter did.

Zhao Yanzi put down what she held reluctantly but didn't let her gaze off Hao Ren. "I warn you, don't mess with me again!"

Hao Ren smiled helplessly, "Do I really disgust you that much"

"Obviously," Zhao Yanzi pursed her lips.

"Well, I feel the same way. With your nasty attitude and ugly looks, whoever marries you is doomed for life," Hao Ren said casually.

"You!" Zhao Yanzi glared at him with wide eyes.

"Alright, both of you stop arguing. You'll be husband and wife in the future," Zhao Hongyu said as she came out from the kitchen holding a dish.

"Mom... He bullied me..." Zhao Yanzi complained to her mother.

"I saw everything. It was you bullying him," Zhao Hongyu smiled gently before turning back into the kitchen to prepare another dish.ame out of the bathroom.
